love the concept - but at the low end ("trendsetter" about 20 bucks a month) I could buy 3-5 of these low-end designer bags a year and actually own them - this is only really valuable at the high end where handbags are $1000+ a pop. Fun anyway though.

I have used bag borrow and the other US site from bags to riches. I just like frombagstoriches.com better because I didn't have to pay a monthly fee to use them so in the end they were less expensive.

on surface interesting concept. dig deeper and it makes zero sense. from user perspective fraught with too much risk (damaged handbags, inavailability of styles/brands). services i have used have huge customer service issues. plus, economics make no sense. unlike netflix, the value of the goods dont depreciate much because we women use our bags over and over and over again. unlike Spiderman which i can only bear to watch once. demand is anemic for all these sites because of the issues above.

I'm not sure I agree - for the user this could be great - assuming the customer service is great, and they have a large variety (Big assumption here...)
In terms of business model - i guess there are some basic drivers to profitability here - replacement cycles, managing inventory, lifetime of clients, etc. etc... But I do wonder if this company has taken off well...

The concept has merit, however; designer handbags are an investment-an investment in your personal style. Shop smart and protect your heirloom seems a better choice.

The best thing about renting designer handbags online is that it is totally affordable for anyone! It's a great idea!
